Intro

The intro is my favourite song from the warm up, it's such an inspirational speech to me cause I can relate to it so well that it feels like homie wrote that s*** straight for me. Plus, how it so perfectly goes into Welcome. First time I heard that s*** I was amazed, just how he says the whole speech then "warm up" right before such a up beat rhythm, the piano loop so classy, so perfect.

I definitely agree with JSPH. The Intro is one created for a classic album and speaks to the strife of many young men who feel the weight of the world upon their shoulders, compounded by the pressure to make a name as an individual, and the necessity of making money.
I discovered the Warm Up during my last semester of law school when it seemed like nothing was going as planned. When J. Cole says "all you dreamed about was this one thing" and "when life takes you through more downs than ups, it hands you more losses than wins," it felt as if he made that to speak to me in that moment. To be so close to achieving my only goal, but my world was crumbling around me.
I ride to the Warm Up like I ride to "ATLiens" and Nas' "Untitled/[Slur Deleted]."
Being from South Carolina and living in NC for a few years, it felt great to hear someone from the Carolina be so gifted with the rhyme and beat selection. The intro is epic like the intro on Common's "Be."

"This is suppose to be your moment, what good is it being the one when you're the only one that knows it!!" In my translation, I felt that J. Cole is telling us to be confident in ourselves, not being afraid to tell your story and going the extra mile to inspire not only for oneself but for others too.. "Closed mouths don't get fed!" SPEAK UP!

J. Cole MAKES inspiring music PERIOD!!! I TOTALLY AGREE WITH THE BOTH OF YOU ABOVE!!! HIS INTROs ARE SOOTHING AND POETIC.. #TOTALLYhitsTHEspot
